Terra Brown Boho Jute & Cotton Rug

Brown Jute & Cotton Rug: A Warm, Handwoven Jute Rug

The Terra Brown Jute & Cotton Rug is a handwoven jute rug in a warm, earthy brown. It's 75% jute and 25% cotton, woven by hand in India into a low, reversible flatweave that stands up to daily traffic and still feels soft underfoot. A braided natural-jute edge frames the rug.

Mid-brown cotton is woven with natural jute, giving a warm, grounded tone with visible texture; the braided-look weave has the homey feel of a brown braided rug. This brown jute rug looks at home on light floors, against cream or white walls, and alongside leather, rattan, olive greens and rust. It suits a brown farmhouse rug look, rustic cabins, and warm mid-century and boho rooms. The brown 8' x 10' anchors a large living or dining room, and the runners bring the same warmth to kitchens and halls. Expect slight natural variation in tone from rug to rug. Available in 20" x 30", 2' x 3', 3' x 5', 4' x 6', 5' x 7', 6' x 9' and 8' x 10', plus 2' x 4' and 2' x 6' runners.

Why You'll Love It

• Softer than all-jute rugs: 25% cotton is woven through the jute, so it feels gentle on bare feet while the jute keeps the rug firm and flat.
• Reversible: flip it over to spread wear and sun fading and get twice the life from one rug.
• Hand-woven in India by skilled weavers and finished with a braided natural-jute edge. Small variations in loop size and tone are part of the handmade character.
• Low profile: at about 0.35" thick it clears most doors and lets chairs slide on and off easily.
• Warm and forgiving: brown hides everyday dirt and pet hair well while keeping a room feeling cozy.
• A size for every room: nine sizes from 20" x 30" to 8' x 10', including two runners, so you can match the look throughout the house.

Choosing a Size

• 20" x 30" & 2' x 3': doorways, in front of the sink, bedside or under a desk chair
• 2' x 4' & 2' x 6' runners: galley kitchens, hallways and narrow entryways
• 3' x 5' & 4' x 6': entryways, bedside, nurseries, home offices and reading corners
• 5' x 7': under a coffee table, a small dining table or a full bed
• 6' x 9': living rooms with a sofa and chairs, under a queen bed, or dining tables for 4 to 6
• 8' x 10': large living rooms and sectionals, king beds, or dining tables for 6 to 8

Care Instructions

Vacuum regularly with the beater bar or brush roll switched off, and avoid running the vacuum along the braided edges. Blot spills straight away and spot clean with mild soap and cool water, then let the area dry fully. Do not soak, steam or machine wash; jute is a plant fiber and can stain or weaken if it stays wet, so keep it away from standing water. Like all natural jute, it may shed a little at first; this settles after the first few vacuumings. The rug ships folded: lay it flat for 3 to 5 days and set books on any stubborn creases. A non-slip rug pad keeps it in place and protects your floors.
